Astrology favours love and fantasy
A Midsummer Night's Dream is one of Shakespeare's most popular plays. The story leads the audience into a landscape where reality and the magical world of fairies collide in a series of unexpected events. Today, although the chance of bumping into Titania and Oberon is slim(!), since it's officially Midsummer Eve in the Northern hemisphere, and the Sun is linking to imaginative Neptune while Venus (love) connects to lucky Jupiter, there's magic (and love) in the air.

Dark of the Moon stirs ancestral energy
Just the thought of bonfire-jumping is enough to raise health and safety alarms. But this ancient tradition is long-associated with this day. In the Northern hemisphere, it's officially Midsummer. And in times gone by, the highest jump over the bonfire was believed to predict the height of the year's crops! Other activities included washing your face in the morning dew and dancing until sunset. In the Dark of the Moon, tuning into old ways can inspire us with ideas for the future.

New Moon stirs the inner mystic
Glastonbury Festival is much more than a music festival. It's a celebration of all things alternative and innovative; a gathering of artists, astrologers, psychics, entertainers, explorers, healers, magicians, poets and visionaries... plus lots of people who want to escape their normal routines and immerse themselves in a crazy world for a few days! Under the New Moon, you don't have to be camping in a field to have an 'alternative' experience. If you look for magic, you'll find it.

Mercury in Leo boosts confidence
Bottling up feelings is never good for us. Neither is sitting on good ideas. With Mercury, planet of communication, entering creative, dramatic Leo today, even if something is difficult to grasp or articulate, if we're bold enough to consider our suppressed emotions and notions, we'll be able to find ways to express them. This transit brings opportunities to realise our potential - which is exciting (and a bit daunting)! It's about making time for playful experimentation. And having fun.

Mercury in Leo sparks bold thinking
In an ideal world, if you were free from obligations, what changes would you make? What adjustments would you initiate? And how would you go about it? With Mercury, planet of ideas, in creative Leo, it's time to challenge your idea of what's possible and what's not. Which doesn't mean abandoning projects (or people). You don't want to throw the baby out with the bathwater! But this weekend, if you're prepared to think outside the box, you'll find the inspiration to enjoy whatever you're doing.

Your July Monthly Horoscope
Planets don't actually change direction; they just appear to reverse across the sky. It's a similar effect to being on a fast train and going past a slower one - the slow train looks like it's going backwards. Our journey through July is influenced by several of these optical illusions. Mystical Neptune starts the ball rolling. Cosmic Teacher, Saturn, follows suit. Then Mercury (communication) turns retrograde. It's as if the cosmos is hitting the pause button - giving us a chance to reflect and implement wise choices.
